THE Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) and Paradise Beverage Fiji has launched its partnership to sponsor the 2018 Fiji Sports Hall of Fame and Fiji Olympic Order dinner at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva next month.
The launch of $10,000 sponsorship was conducted at the Fiji Olympic house at Flagstaff in Suva yesterday.
Fiji Olympic president Joseph Rodan said it was about honoured and recognised people who had contributed a lot in the sporting development of Fiji.
“It’s all about recognised sporting people that have done well during their time and sometimes we turn to forget where we are today is because of these people who have done a lot for Fiji,” said Rodan.
“It’s important that we recognise people who have contributed to our country and although they have moved on, it is what they did is what we build upon.
“We believe sports play an important part in Fiji and it makes us give back to these people because they have done a lot to put Fiji on the map.”
Meanwhile, the Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum will be the guest speaker on the night.
The event will be held on October 13, 2018.
