A SUPERINTENDENT of police convicted by the Nadi Magistrates Court has been given time to file mitigation submissions.
Pita Keni appeared before Magistrate Peni Dalituimua yesterday.
The matter was listed for sentencing, however, Mr Dalituimua noted the mitigation submissions had not been filed.
He informed the accused to let his counsel know of the submissions.
The accused was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) for one count of failure to render assistance and one count of resisting or obstructing officers.
Last December, he was found guilty and convicted for one count of failure to render assistance and found not guilty for the second count.
The matter has been adjourned to April 3.
