THE Vodafone Fiji Under-19 footballers are leading New Caledonia 1-nil at half-time at the OFC Championship in Tahiti.

Ratu Dau scored for Fiji in the 47th minute.

Fijian goalkeeper Alzaar Alam saved a penalty late in the first half.

Fiji needs a win in this match to qualify for the semi-finals.

A draw will see New Caledonia qualify.

New Zealand, Tahiti and the Solomon islands have already booked a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament.

The two finalists qualify for next year’s FIFA U20 World Cup.
