Obituary: Fiji FA mourns Narayan’s passing

FORMER Northland Tailevu soccer coach Rup Narayan has passed away.
The late Rup Narayan was a Fiji FA development officer in the early 1990’s and coach of the Northland Tailevu side for a very long time.
He was a pioneer in women’s football in the Southern Division.
Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf acknowledged Narayan’s contribution on the football arena.
“It’s a huge loss. He had been an inspiring mentor and a great footballer of his time and contributed immensely whenever he was given an opportunity to do so. “He was a great leader and an entertaining football player. He will surely be missed by those who know him.”
“Our heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolence is with his family in this difficult point in time and I pray to the Almighty that his soul rest in peace.”
