Northerners march to mark special day

Update: 1:11PM ABOUT 150 people marched through Labasa Town this morning to commemorate the Mid-
year International Day for people with Disability.

The march included students from the Labasa Special School, Fiji Red
Cross volunteers, House of Colours organisation, members of the Fiji National
Council of Disabled Persons.

With the theme, ‘Disability and Development’, the students sang an
iTaukei song, Na mataniciva as they marched through town.

Jone
Nasilasila, a participant, said that he was
very excited to be a part of the celebration.

“I am happy
to be a part of today’s celebration and the people that are marching behind me
in a sign of support,” he said.

“It is
always good to feel that there is people care.”

The march
ended at the Katonivere Grounds where the celebration is in progress.
