NO arrests have been made as Fijian Police continue to investigate on the 30 cocaine bars with an estimated street value of F$31million found on an island in the Lau group this week.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said their investigations were still continuing.

The illicit drugs weighed 40 kilograms and were found after a tip-off received by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS).

FRCS chief executive officer Visvanath Das had said that the surveillance in coastal communities and seas was an ongoing challenge for Customs.

However, with assistance and the cooperation of islanders and villagers, he said Fiji’s borders could be protected from the illicit drug trade.
