THE thanksgiving service for the late Ratu George Kadavulevu Cakobau Jr was held today at the Ratu Cakobau church on Bau Island.

Hundreds from all walks of life are in attendance to pay their last respect for the son and namesake of the first local Governor General of Fiji and Vunivalu of Bau, Ratu Sir George Cakobau.

The late Ratu George is survived by his wife, six children and 19 grandchildren.

He was 70-years-old during his passing.
