THE new set of vehicles purchased by the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji will contribute towards government’s initiative to enhance biosecurity services to support its development agenda, says chief executive officer Hillary Kumwenda.

Mr Kumwenda made the statements at the official handover of the 47 new vehicles from Asco Motors in Nabua today.

He said the increased number of vehicles would boost its operations and increase its presence around the country.

“I also want to reiterate that the new vehicles will ensure enhanced facilitation of local biosecurity needs and domestic quarantine such those for fruit flies, taro beetle, Asian Subterranean Termite, American Foulbrood and giant invasive iguana,” he said.
