TEARS flowed freely at the Naseakula Methodist Church this morning as the new Tui Labasa, Ratu Jone Qomate took his oath of allegiance to his people and the church before God.

In a solemn ceremony that took place at 4am this morning, Ratu Jone promised to serve his people and God with all abilities.

The beautiful sound of the Naseakula choir added a graceful feeling to the whole ceremony where Ratu Jone, his family, including the Tui Macuata, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere and his wife participating in the Holy Communion.

While addressing his people, Ratu Jone testified to them about the goodness of God in his life.

Officiating at the church service was the senior reverend of the Macuata Methodist Circuit, Inia Marawi.

Rev Marawi who is a junior old scholar of Ratu Jone added humor to the service when he said it was befitting that he sanctified the new chief who is his senior old scholar from Levuka Public School.
