THE installation of mid-block pedestrian crossing traffic signals which is expected to be completed over the next four weeks on Rodwell Road and Stinson Parade Bridge has begun.

This was confirmed in a statement issued today by the Fiji Roads Authority.

FRA Acting General Manager Electrical Musheer Khan said they will also be upgrading 11 traffic signal sites in the coming months under the Traffic Signal Maintenance Program.

“The installation of the two new mid-block pedestrian crossing traffic signals will enable a safe crossing for pedestrians along these two busy routes and will also allow the efficient flow of vehicular traffic,” Mr Khan said.

He said they will work to keep disruptions to a minimum and works which require lane closures will be carried out during off peak hours.
