New health facility opens in Waimaro, Ra

Update: 1:46PM THE wait for a new health facility in Waimaro, Ra, is over.
The previous nursing station in the area was destroyed during Tropical Cyclone Winston in February 2016, leaving hundreds of people stranded without proper health facilities.
Today, the newly-built Waimaro Health Centre was opened by Australian High Commissioner John Feakes and Health Minister Rosy Akbar.
This project was the joint venture of the Australian and Fijian governments.
Two new nurses’ quarters, along with a vehicle for outreach purposes, were also handed over.
