STICKING to his business philosophy of “celebrating the richness of life”, established Fijian designer Samson Lee has opened another new boutique outlet – this time a bridal one. Harnessing the growth in the local wedding market, the Samson Lee bridal boutique — situated along Butt St opposite The Fiji Times office in Suva — is all about sophistication, exclusivity, high fashion.

And most importantly — it’s strictly by appointment only.

The new boutique outlet is just a door away from his first boutique shop which opened last year, adding more hype to Suva’s fashion centric area.

You won’t miss the boutique with its vintage, rustic yet unique look in its interior and exterior detailing.

According to Mr Lee, the shop space was available earlier this year where he saw the opportunity to venture his business into the wedding space.

“It was a thing that I always wanted to do so given the opportunity for space, I decided to open up the shop especially for bridal wear and weddings,” he told this newspaper.

Samson’s first bridal project was for Mere Loga, where he designed both the bridal gown as well as outfits for the entire wedding party.

Once pictures of the wedding party hit Facebook, orders began to roll in. Bridal wear was Samson’s initial launching pad into the Fiji fashion industry.

The boutique which officially opens for business today, simply avails the opportunity for those looking to shop for everything wedding related.

With designed packages that could be customised to customers’ needs, the curated shop is intended to also dress its customers for their wedding day including all of the bridal events surrounding it.

From engagement fetes to bachelorette weekends, rehearsal dinners, post-wedding brunches and all the fun festivities in between – the new boutique has it all.

Mr Lee said he maintained appointment bookings only to avail sufficient time for consultation on customers’ desires when it comes to weddings.

An edge for Mr Lee over other local brands, the new boutique is also backed by an experienced “glam” team of stylists to cater for head-to-toe styling.

From sequin gowns to the more traditional pearl and shell covered masi outfits; the Samson Lee selection also includes incredible accessories-killer shoes, garter belts, veils, bouquets and jewellery are a must-browse.

In fact, the only thing the bridal boutique does not stock is a selection of grooms.

“Our main value proposition is that we understand that planning a wedding can be stressful and finding the perfect gown is key,” Mr Lee said.

“After all, your dress sets the tone for the entire event, whether it’s a grand ballroom affair or a casual beach celebration- so it can feel like there’s a lot of pressure to get it absolutely perfect.

“Plus, the emerging trend of brides wearing multiple dresses, a more traditional masi one for the ceremony and a contemporary one for the reception doubles the task of shopping.”

Now a household fashion name in Fiji, the introduction of the new bridal shop sees the Samson Lee brand evolve since its inception to the local fashion scene in 2015.
