Need leaders with clean records, says Kumar

A POTENTIAL candidate and also the general secretary of the Unity Fiji party, Satish Kumar says that Fiji must unite for the 2018 General Election to ensure governance is given to leaders with good clean record.

Mr Kumar is a business consultant and also the managing director of his family-owned business CLABSS Pacific Ltd which deals with waste management trucking.

With his vast leadership work experience in the private and public sector, Mr Kumar said his upbringing had helped him to overcome struggle and acquire the best education.

He believes that the Unity Fiji party is made up of people who could move the country forward.

“Every voter has a very important role to play and collectively they have the power to decide who forms the next government through their votes,” Mr Kumar said.

“They need to make an informed decision and not be carried away with the freebees given at an unprecedented level, let’s put people first.

“Unity Fiji provides the best political platform with a very credible team of professionals and intellectuals who have a very clean record and wealth of experience and expertise to take our beloved nation forward in an inclusive manner with respect and dignity for all irrespective of colour, religion, ethnicity, age and others,” Mr Kumar said.

“It is a multiracial party, the collective experience and expertise of our team is second to none.”

Mr Kumar has vast experience in business teaching and had also served as a manager in a number of corporate business entities.

He had also served as a chief executive officer of Nasinu Town Council and was also one of the leading officers in the Fiji Trade and Investment Board for six years.

“It is the shortfall in the political space over the past few decades, a growing coup culture, dictatorship, militarisation of civil service, lack of good governance, accountability and transparency, increasing level of corruption, abuse of human rights, freedom, workers’ rights and others that has been the triggering point to come forward and contribute in another capacity or role in helping build a better Fiji for all,” he claimed.

“My humble message to the people of Fiji is to unite and work together in ensuring governance of our beloved country is given to leaders with good clean record who are role models themselves and can be trusted.” Mr Kumar said.
