THE Fiji Institute of Surveyors has been encouraged to register more surveyors.

Permanent Secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources, Malakai Finau stressed this while opening the Fiji Institute of Surveyors 58th Survey Congress 2018 at the Uprising Beach Resort in Pacific Harbour today.

“I encourage the Fiji Institute of Surveyors to collaborate with the Surveyors Registration Board and government to register more surveyors to fill up the vacuum left by experienced surveyors who have passed on or migrated overseas,” he said.

He added with the theme this year being ‘Promoting Surveying in Fiji’, it would be able to provide an avenue for the surveyors to deliberate on the best stance to move the profession forward.

The congress will conclude this Sunday.
