Navosa honours students

THE Navosa Primary Schools Football Association will hold an awards ceremony to honour its under-10, U12 and U14 teams.

The association which was formed last year has 14 affiliated schools.

This year Navosa participated at the South West playoffs for the first time winning the U12 grade.

Navosa also participated at the Fiji Primary Schools Football Association Inter District Championship in Suva earlier this month.

Navosa team official Nitesh Chand said they were given recognition by the parent body during the annual general meeting at Lautoka Central College last year.

“At our annual meeting all schools in the district were present and a total of 14 members were elected to run the organisation,” Chand said.

“With the humble beginning and with limited resources, we were able to field three teams in the U10, U12 and U14 grades at the South West playoffs at Tuva Primary School.

“We were crowned winners in the U12 grade. The U12 and U14 teams got the opportunity to participate at the IDC at the ANZ Stadium.

“So to acknowledge the effort of players and the officials for their hard work, our association will host an awards day.”

The awards day will be held on the October 9 at Loma Primary School in Sigatoka.
