Nakelo floodgates approved

THE floodgates and footpath of Namuka village in Nakelo has been approved and will be taken cared of by the Commissioner Central’s office.

This was after the Nakelo district rep, Luke Rokovada had raised the issue of the floodgates which is not being closed properly because of debris and rubbish being stuck on the floodgates at the Tailevu provincial meeting.

He also highlighted that the footpath in the village were partially destroyed because of heavy laden and overloading vehicles that had worked on the floodgates in 2010.

The Commissioner Central’s office noted that they have received a quotation from Namuka village and work on the footpath will begin in August.
