THE inaugural Fiji Bitter Nabukelevu-i-ra 7s organising committee is looking to make the event a successful one after receiving confirmation from a few prominent teams.
Teams that will be part of the sevens tournament are the Fiji sevens team, Wardens, Tabadamu, Nadroga Stallions and the Nasinu team.
Tournament organiser Iliesa Bacita said he was thankful that some prominent teams were able to make it to the tournament, which would be a huge boost to the 7’s tournament.
“The inclusion of teams such as the Fiji sevens team will give an opportunity for the rural players in Kadavu to expose their talents,” said Bacita.
“This is not only a fundraising tournament but also a way in which we can develop rugby enthusiasts on the island as well as give the players here an opportunity to showcase their talents,” he said.
Bacita showed his gratitude to the sponsors of the tournament.
“We as a committee are thankful to the sponsors Fiji Bitter, Vinod Patel and Goundar Shipping services for jumping on board to help with the funding of this tournament.”
