WITH five minutes to the end of the game, Moriti Nabalarua had three options either go in for the tackle, attempt an intercept should there be a long pass out wide or go for a charge down.

But the Marist Brothers High School full-back hesitated, and just like a thief in the night, the nippy halfback went for the charge down, regathered the ball inside the Marist 22 yard line to run away untouched.

His try broke the hearts of the red fire boys as the Victorians march on to the final of the Powerade Super Deans Rugby Championship after claiming a 25-21 win in their under-17 semi-final.

“When I grow up, I would like to be a pilot, and I know it takes a lot of hard work but I am determined.

“This win and try are dedicated to my parents, who are always supporting me, my teachers, and the entire QVS family,” said the Dravuwalu, Naceva Kadavu lad, while wiping tears off his face.

QVS will face Lelean Memorial School who edged Ratu Navula College in the other semi-final 17-15.
