A LOT of activities were on show for children during yesterday’s Fiji Museum open day in Suva. Museum’s education installation and promotion manager, Vereniki Nalio said the open day was mainly to educate the public about the museum’s role and responsibilities.

Mr Nalio said it was also a platform to promote the rich culture and heritage of Fiji through its gallery exhibitions.

“Museum open day is not only for children but also for the general public,” he said.

International youth fellowship manager Isikeli Ralolo, who was also part of the open day, said people should be more vigilant about their culture and heritage and their importance.

“Nowadays people tend to forget their cultures especially youths so this open day will help them to embrace what happened in the past,” Mr Ralolo said.

“Children should be positive always and should not forget the importance of their culture.”
