Museum program for senior students

THE Fiji Museum School Holiday(FOC) program will begin from tomorrow at Thurston Gardens in Suva.

The event which is free of charge to students from Year 7-13 is intended to teach students about Fiji’s rich culture and history through basic hands on activities related to museum education and artifacts.

Museum manager education, exhibition and promotion section Vereniki Nalio, said the event was a way to create awareness about the role of museum in preserving, safeguarding and transmission of knowledge through such school holiday programs.

The classes will include basic drawing, basic weaving, basic pottery and basic masi printing activities.

The classes begin from 9 am tomorrow with 80 students expected to attend the four day event.
