MP: Climate change in God’s hands

Listen to this article:

CLIMATE change is God’s business. This was highlighted by Opposition MP Ratu Tevita Niumataiwalu while addressing Parliament yesterday on the 2018/2019 National Budget.

Ratu Tevita said Fiji’s initiative to lead the COP23 did not make sense because climate change was beyond man’s control.

“Madam Speaker, the initiative of our nation controlling the steering of COP23 with its allocation of millions of dollars is futile and senseless, because logically I believe climate change is God’s business,” he said.

People in the Northern Division, Ratu Tevita claimed believed a holistic approach was the way for preservation, conservation and sustaining the environment’s respective resources.

“The solution Madam Speaker, is in II Chronicles chapter 7 verse 14: we the people are God’s creators, is to justify the Righteous by giving Him (God) according to His righteousness and we must humble ourselves, and pray and seek His blessings; and turn away their wicked ways, then He will hear from heaven and will forgive our sin and heal our land,” he said.
