MOU focuses on agriculture resource sharing

IN  a bid to achieve broader development goals within the agriculture sector, Fiji’s Agriculture Ministry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Biotec Ltd focused on the sharing of resources with the framework of scientific and technological advancements.

The MoU was signed by the Minister for Agriculture Inia Seruiratu and Director of Biotec Limited Roderick Evans today at the ministry’s headquarters in Raiwaqa.

Mr Seruiratu  said the agricultural sector would benefit greatly from this collaboration

“The benefits of the this collaboration will be the availability of disease free plating materials for growers especially in areas like Taveuni which is not being permitted for dalo suckers due to taro beetle threat,” Mr Seruiratu said.

He added that public private partnerships was also an invitation to the private sector wishing to partner with the ministry in developing and contributing positively to the agriculture sector.
