THE 4FJ campaign has been successful with more people signing up to support the protection of grouper fish – kawakawa and donu.

Led by the Ministry of Fisheries through the support of cChange Pacific, the campaign which started in 2014 has so far received 15,000 signatures.

cChange founder and director Scott Radway said since the start of the four month ban started on June 1, stakeholders have become increasingly aware about the campaign purpose.

“Once people learn why we are losing these fish by over fishing them as they are attempting to breed, they get behind the solution,” Radway said.
