Missionary found guilty of rape

A 31-YEAR-old man has been found guilty of three counts of rape by Suva High Court judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.

The court heard that the man who was a missionary raped the then-14-year-old girl between January and December 2013 in Kadavu.

Justice Rajasinghe while delivering his judgment said he accepted the victim’s evidence and found it credible.

He said that prosecution had proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

The man will be sentenced on Monday.
