STRIKER Joseph Mishra’s goal against Tailevu Naitasiri took Nasinu to the top of southern zone points standing in the Vodafone Senior League at Fiji Football Association headquarters in Vatuwaqa, Suva yesterday. The side won 1-0. The former Suva and Rewa striker made the difference in the 72nd minute when he beat Tailevu Naitasiri goalkeeper Pawan Lal in the goalmouth.

Nasinu had experienced players such as Nathan Kumar, Nitin Kumar, Anish Kumar who all feature for Suva in the past and veteran goalkeeper Epeli Suibuka.

“We came with the aim to win and that is what the players have achieved,” Nasinu Football Association president Oneil Chand said.

“After the win today (yesterday) we have 21 points, first on the points standing and four more matches remaining for us. There are players who had been faithful with Nasinu and since the team got demoted they kept playing for Nasinu to fight their way back to the top level football in the country.” Nasinu will play Nadroga in the next match.
