Ministry sets priority

TEAM bonding and keep fit was the main priority for the workers of the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management during the sports day at Furnival Park in Suva on Saturday.
Teams from around the country came together to mingle and take part in the various sports.
The co-ordinator Uraia Rainima said the event would help to improve on their performance towards the people.
“We have teams from all the divisions here taking part in the sports day,” he said.
“It is a yearly event but this is the second time we are doing it.
“We are getting our teams to socialise and become a better team to achieve our goals given to us.”
The people participated in various sports including soccer, touch rugby, carom board and tug of war.
“The goal is to maintaining fitness within the office so we can improve on our performance,” he added.
“A healthy team would perform better and achieve a lot.
“Our role is to improve the livelihood of our people in the rural area so this is the way to encourage our people.”
