BAU chief Ratu Joji Cakobau will be accorded a military funeral today.
It has been known to the delegations presenting their i-reguregu on Bau Island that the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) will take over the funeral proceedings this morning to the Ratu Cakobau Church for memorial service.
Ratu Joji will then be laid to rest at the sautabu or chiefly burial grounds on the island.
Ratu Joji also known as Ratu George Cakobau Jnr is the eldest son of late Governor General Ratu Sir George from his first marriage to Adi Veniana Gavoka, Radini Levuka, daughter of Ratu Inoke Mara, Roko Tui Namata.
Ratu Joji’s father – Ratu George Snr was installed as Vunivalu in 1959 and died in 1989 leaving the paramount title vacant ever since.
Ratu Joji is survived by his wife and six children.
