UNITY Fiji party leader Savenaca Narube says the party accepts that like all other freedom we enjoy, media freedom also comes with heavy responsibility.
Mr Narube made the comments while reacting to the latest World Press Freedom Index report that ranked Fiji 57th out of 180 countries.
He said the party agreed with the report published in the Reporters Without Borders, which said “global rankings is one thing and the reality on the ground is another”.
“If our latest World Press Freedom Index ranking of 57 out of 180 countries is anything to go by, then we still have a lot of work to do, especially with yet other decisive general elections just around the corner,” Mr Narube said.
