Man pleads not guilty

A man who was alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman at Naweni Village near Savusavu has been ordered to reappear at the Savusavu Magistrates Court next Tuesday.
Iliesa Radau, who is charged with three counts of sexual assault, appeared before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe at the High Court in Labasa yesterday.
Mr Radau chose to have his charges read out to him in the iTaukei language and pleaded not guilty to all three counts.
The court heard the alleged incident happened at Naweni Village on August 28, 2015. On the same day the accused was alleged to have sexually assaulted the complainant without her consent.
Justice Rajasinghe ordered the accused to be remanded in police custody and to reappear at the Magistrates Court in Savusavu next week.
