A MAN who raped a 10-year-old boy last year was today sentenced to 10 years and 10 months imprisonment.
He was charged with three counts of rape and had pleaded guilty to all the charges earlier this year.
The incident took place on December 9, 2017, in the Central Division.
In passing sentence, High Court judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe told the rapist that he had breached the trust that was reposed in him by the complainant.
He had also denied the complainant from having a normal and natural growth in his childhood.
The man will be eligible for parole after serving eight years and six months behind bars.
