A 21-year-old man accused of stealing from a second-hand car dealing company in Nausori on Christmas Day last year has denied committing the alleged offence.
Victal Vikash Prasad appeared before Justice Daniel Goundar at the High Court in Suva on Wednesday.
Mr Prasad, who is currently serving a custodial term for another offence, is facing charges of theft and aggravated burglary.
The 21-year-old pleaded not guilty to both charges.
He was alleged to have entered the compound of GM Motors in Nausori on December 25, last year and stole 55 key pieces worth $30,950.
State counsel Susana Serukai clarified to the court that the key pieces were simply electronic keys for vehicles.
Ms Serukai informed the court that the accused allegedly intended to resell the keys after committing the alleged offence.
She also revealed in court that the accused allegedly admitted in his caution interview that he only stole 30 key pieces.
Mr Prasad asked the court to grant him bail because he was to be released from prison next Wednesday.
