Man acquitted for aggravated robbery charges

Update: 2:30PM KALOKALO Mataunidilo was a happy man on Thursday after the High Court in Suva acquitted him for two counts of aggravated robbery he was charged for.

This
was after trial judge, Justice Vinsent Perera agreed with the unanimous opinion
of the assessors in finding Mataunidilo not guilty of the offences.

Justice
Perera while handing down his judgment said the prosecution had failed to prove
the two charges against the accused beyond reasonable doubt.

The
alleged incidents occurred at two different places on June 25, 2016 where more
than $98,000 worth of items and cash were stolen.
