RENOWNED singer and composer, Elena Baravilala’s English hit, Seven won her the Best Composition award, which was the premiere award at last night’s Fiji Performing Rights Association Music Awards. The song is a tribute to the love story of the late Tevita Secivo, who passed away in December 2016, and his wife, Galuoko Secivo, who were pilots in Papua New Guinea.

Ms Baravilala said since the release of the song last year, it had become an inspiration and interpreted by many as their own love song.

She said she was grateful for the win and it was also a great deal for her, personally, because it could be her last music award at the annual FPRA awards.

More than 10 categories were contested for at this year’s FPRA awards.
