CANE lorry drivers are happy with the services provided by the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC).

Vanua Levu Cane Lorry Association president Mohammed Janab said the crushing season had started off on a good note.

“There’s hardly any breakdowns compared with the past years and all is well so far with the mill’s performance,” he said.

“We just had one breakdown this morning (yesterday), but the FSC management informed us and it’s good that they keep us informed now.

“There are good changes in the mill and we have also been looked after well by the FSC staff.”

Mr Janab said they received a text message regarding the breakdown (yesterday).

“And when we received that message, the staff of FSC arrived with food and tea for us, so it’s a good partnership,” he said.

“The supply of cane has also been constant and we keep encouraging our farmers to keep up with the good supply.

“The farmers are doing that despite the shortage of canecutters.”

Mr Janab said they had no issues with the transportation of cane to the mill.
