‘Lighting Up Communities’ documentary launched

A DOCUMENTARY highlighting the European Union’s work in the sugarcane-belt area was launched today in Suva.

Titled ‘Lighting Up Communities’, the 15-minute documentary shares stories on the EU’s Micro Projects Programme.

‘Lighting Up Communities’ shares stories from people and communities in the cane belt on the impacts of the work of the MPP project in bringing solar power to their communities, as well as upgrading school ablution blocks in target schools and introducing safe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) practices to teachers and students.

EU’s MPP is being implemented by the Pacific Community (SPC).

The MPP is a five-year project which began in October 2013 and ends in June 2018.
