LELEAN Memorial School will be represented in all the grade finals of the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League competition.
The defending under-19 champions ousted John Wesley College 10-4 while the school U15 team beat Ba Provincial Freebird Institute 20-10 in the semi-finals at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.
The U17 side defeated Nasinu 14-6.
The much-anticipated U19 final next weekend will be the battle of the Eastern zone rugby rivals Lelean and Ratu Kadavulevu School after the Delainakaikai brigade secured a hard fought 10-4 win over Marist in the other semi-final.
The U15 side will battle against Nasinu in the final after Nasinu beat RKS 8-4 in the semi-finals.
The U17 will face Marist in the final.
FSSRLA secretary Biu Colati said the intensity showed by the semi-final games would set the platform for next weekend’s finals.
He said new schools did well this year with Marist and Ratu Kadavulevu School represented in the finals.
Colati said defending U19 champion Lelean would be a tough nut to crack in the final.
“This year is a milestone for Marist with two teams featuring in the semi-finals and their under-17 team qualifying for the final,” he said. “I won’t be surprised if they win the final.
“Lelean on the other hand will be the teams to watch with all their teams qualifying for the finals.”
The final will be held at Lawaqa Park next weekend.
