Lal off to his fourth cross country race

AVIKASH Lal left the country today to take part in his fourth Oceania Cross Country Championship in Australia.

Lal is one of the top cross country racers in the Pacific and has also participated in two world cross country championships as well.

The Fiji Airways flight attendant is hopeful of flying the Fijian flag high this weekend.

“It’s an honour to represent the country once again. I thank God for the opportunity and like every time, will do my best to improve my time,” he said.

The Nadi Jetrunners Club athlete is aware of the challenges ahead.

“Competing in Oceania is never easy. It is one of the toughest tasks you can get. But I have prepared well and am confident I will do well in Australia.”

The Oceania Cross Country Championship will be held at the Sunshine Coast this Saturday.
