Update: 1:12PM DESPITE the non-availability of funds, two secondary schools in Labasa have formed Climate Change Clubs in the hope of raising awareness among their peers.

Initiated and led by Fiji National University lecturer Pardeep Lal, the clubs, he said had been successful at Waiqele College and Bulileka College.

“CCC members speak on impacts of climate change and what they are doing locally towards overcoming its impacts,” Dr Lal said.

“I have designed four projects for members at school level and the projects include composting, tree planting, sorting out rubbish and education and awareness.”

The members are assisted by teachers.
