NADI’S military Delta Coy team has defended the Bougainville Bowl after defeating Labasa’s Golf Company 18-13 at Subrail Park yesterday.
The two teams were at an 8-8 draw at half-time.
Delta team captain Peni Naruma described the game as a tough one against an experienced Golf team, also known as the Bainivualiku military team.
“They played very well too but I thank our boys for persevering throughout the touch 80 minutes match,” he said.
“It was a good game and our defence worked out well despite the Babasiga heat.”
Golf company coach Iosefo Tamanisaqarua said the boys made decisions during the match that cost them the match.
“We have a good team although young but they were determined to win and they had the potential to win,” he said.
“However, we will now focus on next year’s preparation and ensure we achieve positive results.”
