MINISTER for Fisheries Semi Koroilavesau says if his name is announced as one of the FijiFirst candidates for the upcoming general election, he would then stand for election.

He revealed this in an interview with The Fiji Times after visiting Northern Lau last week.

Mr Koroilavesau said the candidates’ names for FijiFirst party had not been announced yet and he would only wait until then to confirm whether he would contest the upcoming polls or not.

“The result of the line-up for the FijiFirst party is yet to come,” Mr Koroilavesau said.

“If I am chosen and I am in the list then I will stand, if I fail to pass the test then I will go back to Nadi and continue my lifelong dream for the past 20 years.”

Mr Koroilavesau has served as the Minister for Fisheries for the past one and a half years and also served as the Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations in 2015.
