Kill suspect further remanded

A MAN who allegedly stabbed his wife to death last month in Labasa has been further remanded in custody by the High Court in Labasa.
Tevita Vuniwai appeared before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe yesterday.
Mr Vuniwai’s lawyer Lisiate Fotofili told the court there were missing documents in the accused’s file which needed to be retrieved by police.
Justice Rajasinghe ordered the accused to be remanded in custody and to reappear in court next month.
Mr Vuniwai allegedly stabbed his 22-year-old wife Amelia Babitu, who was a third year nursing student at the TISI Sangam College of Nursing and Healthcare Education. Ms Babitu was expected to graduate this year.
The alleged incident happened at the Vakamasisuasua industrial area last month.
