Khan appointed FIA president

ZARIN Khan is the new president of the Fiji Institute of Accountants (FIA).
The chartered accountant was elected to the post during the FIA annual general meeting at its 46th congess in Sigatoka yesterday afternoon.
Mr Khan, who is a Nadi partner at the chartered accounting firm Aliz Pacific, previously held the post of FIA vice president from last year’s AGM.
He replaces Finau Nagera who held the presidency post after being elected last year.
Rajeshwar Singh, BSP’s chief financial officer, is now the vice president.
Two new council members were also elected: Pravinesh Singh and Ashwin Nand.
The congress ends today with the FIA gala night.
Fiji Institute of Accountants (FIA) is a statutory body established under the Fiji Institute of Accountants Act, (Cap 259) for the accounting profession in Fiji.
Since its inception in 1972, FIA has achieved recognition as a premier accounting body not only in Fiji but also regionally, for its contribution to education, professional development and the maintenance of high accounting, auditing and ethical standards.
