FIJI’S Police Special Response Unit diver’s team will continue to search the Rewa River until dark because it is still unclear as to how many people were in the vehicle that veered off the road along Kasavu in Nausori early this morning.

The body of a 25-year-old man from Baulevu, Nausori, was recovered earlier in the day and investigators were still gathering information to determine if the victim was traveling alone.

According to Police, visibility is quite low as officers are diving up to a depth of 30-40 metres where they had located the vehicle, which was pulled out from the river this afternoon.

“The search will continue as long as daylight permits and is likely to continue tomorrow morning,” Fiji Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said.

Police are also calling on anyone who has information that could assist investigators to call the Eastern Division Command Centre on 9905 563 or Crime Stoppers on 919.
