It was confirmed by Fiji Primary Schools Rugby Union president Owen Ratumaikoro who was monitoring the competition.

“The respective divisions are having their competition in selecting their squad for the National Kaji Championship which will be played in Suva. The maritime zones have just started the competitions which includes Gau, Koro, Kadavu and Ovalau.

“We are doing our best to assist the maritime zone teams,” Ratumaikoro said.

“There are four divisions which are north, west, eastern and central. The divisions are then divided into the districts as there are 32 districts part of the competition this year.

“We will be having divisional competition and the national competition.”

Ratumaikoro said the competition would be played over three-days in Suva.

“For the national competition we are taking only under-12, under-13 and under-14 who have been playing regular contact rugby for the past few years to the championship. The under-9 and under-10 are being part of the Get Into Rugby program into the districts,” he said.
