A MINUTE of silence was observed at the Kaila! Star Search competition last night to remember a former judge for the competition, Manasa Kalouniviti, who passed away earlier this week after a short illness.
Kalouniviti was a senior business journalist at the The Fiji Times based in Suva at the time of his demise.
Chief guest at the 2018 Kaila! Star Search semi-finals, The Fiji Times Advertising Features editor Verenaisi Raicola in the midst of her address paid tribute to Kalouniviti, who she said was a great singer and had been part of choirs and groups.
“Tonight (last night), The Fiji Times would like to remember and pay tribute to one of our staff member Manasa Kalouniviti who passed away this week after a short illness,” Raicola said.
“A great singer having been part of choirs and groups, including the renowned Waisiliva 80, Kalouniviti had also contributed to this event giving sound advice to contestants.”
Kalouniviti was a judge for the 2017 Kaila! Star Search competition.
