FIFTEEN Kaila! star search contestants will be vying for 10 spots to qualify into the finals today (July 27).

This week is the semi-final round where five contestants will be eliminated.

17-year-old Gospel High School student, Georgina Volavola who has already surpassed the first elimination round is confidant that she will be chosen as on the finalists this week.

“It is hard as there are a lot of good singers and I need to prepare myself well in order to beat them,” said Volavola.

Lanieta Makosoi who has entered the competition for the second time feels she can portray her talents as a solo singer better as back in 2016 she entered the competition as a duet singer.

“My biggest challenge is stage fright which I will try and overcome this week in order to do my best,” said Makosoi.

A student from John Wesley College, Marika Bosekoviti feels he is not in the competition to win but to show his talent to Fiji.

The 19-year-old uses singing as a way of overcoming his problems. One of the major challenges he faces is managing his time well for practicing his songs and also to prepare for his term end exams next week.
