John Abraham’s last release, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran has received critical acclaim at the box office. The film’s original producers and John Abraham were caught up in a murky battle regarding the film. Both levelled accusations against the other.
There were reports in the media that Akshay Kumar who starred in the first film produced by the producers of Parmanu, did not support John against the producers with Parmanu.
A source had informed Deccan Chronicle, “When John was looking for support in his battle with Prernaa (Arora) he immediately thought of Akshay who had collaborated with Prernaa over three films (Rustom, Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Padman). John’s association with Akshay goes back to almost a decade and he thought he would get complete support from Akshay.”
The source had added, “Akshay had no complaints at all about his association with Prernaa. He saw no reason to join John’s fight against her. Even otherwise, Akshay likes to keep away from spats and controversies as much as possible.”
John cleared the air and tweeted, “Heard that my brother @akshaykumar and I are fighting..he would beat me up 🙂 Sorry to disappoint but NO truth to this. The only explosions happening currently are on screen in Parmanu :)”
