Jacque brings her own

A MASH of colours on free-flowing fabrics yet set against some fancy patterns, Jacque Whippy was always going to be noticed.
As the name suggests, Jacque is niece to outgoing managing director of Fiji Fashion Week Ellen Whippy-Knight.
Her older sister is a bula wear designer.
Despite those connections, the younger Ms Whippy is not one to rest on laurels even with the success of her chain of boutiques Shopaholic Fiji.
“It’s been such an adrenalin rush, back of house was just crazy but it was good,” Ms Whippy said.
The collection JLew was inspired by the 1960s-1970s era and Jacque used shirt dresses popular in the past few seasons and hats to downplay some of the faintly high fashion European style pieces in her work.
