organisers of the 2018 Interhash are hoping to collect more than $30,000 during the Red Dress Run which will be the prelude to the main event in May.
Fiji will be hosting the 21st anniversary of the event in Nadi, Sigatoka and Lautoka attracting close to 3500 runners from around the world.
The Red Dress Run is for charity with the proceeds collected to be given to the Nadi Hospital for upgrades. For accountability and transparency, reputable firm Ernst and Young have been appointed as the auditors for the entire event.
Fiji Hash House Harriers grandmaster Doctor Ram Raju said they were hoping to get more sponsors on board to increase the profit margin and collect more funds for the Nadi Hospital.
“There is complete transparency and accountability not only for charity event but the entire 2018 Interhash,” Dr Raju said.
“We expect to raise well over $30,000. The location for the Red Dress Run is wonderful. It starts from Lautoka Club which is situated next to the sea. It is a fantastic run or walk route through the heart of Lautoka City and along most of the historical sites Lautoka has to offer. The Hash Pause and Beer Stop will be near the Lautoka Hospital which is the origin of the Hospital Hash House Harriers.
