Indian naval ship opens it’s doors to the public

THE Indian Naval Ship (INS) Sahyadri welcomes the public on board from 10am to 4pm tomorrow morning.

This was mentioned by Shantanu Jha the captain of the vessel which arrived this morning at the Suva harbor.

“We are part of the Eastern fleet of the Indian Navy and India and Fiji share strategic relationship as this is part of our area of interest and to further develop the bonds of friendship between the two countries,” he said.

“Our navy has decided to deploy us, we are part of a five month operational sea deployment and we have just participated in one of the largest maritime naval exercise which was held at Pearl Harbour in Hawaii.”

He said the ship was proud to celebrate their 72nd independence day on August 15 in Fiji.
